A new horizon for 2024

The month of December is a special month. When it approaches, we prepare for the arrival of Christmas and celebrate these important dates with our family and friends. In Andorra, furthermore, we face this last month of the year as the first of a new winter season, always special in a mountainous country like ours, although in recent years we have worked on de-parking tourism. But if there is a very common exercise that we associate with December, it is taking stock of all the progress we have made throughout the year we are ending.
If January is the month of new resolutions and establishing objectives for the new year that begins, in December we take the list written twelve months ago and review everything that we then detailed. Therefore, before starting to write these lines, I wanted to remember what I wrote in previous years to see what the sensations and expectations were. And the first thing I see, with complete happiness, is how we have left the chapter of the Covid-19 pandemic behind and are recovering pre-pandemic levels.
This year 2023 has been an important year at Daguisa Hotels; a course in which we have been strengthening our projects and we have seen how they grew. We came from a 2022 in which we turned 65 years old and now we face a new horizon for this 2024 full of hope, because we are aware of our history, what it has taken to get here and we know where we want to go. A path that we have traveled while being faithful to our values, which have allowed us to overcome the different vicissitudes and face the future with optimism. Values that we are proud of, defend and put into practice in our daily lives.
At Daguisa Hotels we have always been available to the country to help our fellow citizens when necessary. Both in specific moments of greatest need or by transferring this commitment to the country on a daily basis, with sponsorship and CSR campaigns that promote the development of Andorra.
For example, this year 2023 we begin with a new sponsorship agreement, in this case with the Andorran Football Federation (FAF), with the aim of strengthening two areas of growth such as women's football and the Senior National Team. This agreement made us sponsors of the women's camp that is organized every year in the summer, bringing together a hundred people in its ten editions held to date, in addition to supporting the team of Koldo Alvarez de Eulate, national team coach.
With this agreement, it also allowed us to celebrate International Women's Football Day, which is celebrated every May 23, and to host a round table in which the role of women in this sport was debated, organized jointly with the FAF and the Andorra Women's Association (ADA). Without a doubt, within the world of football there is still a way to go to promote an egalitarian practice, and I hope that little by little we will get closer to it.
Also in the sporting field, this year we renewed our sponsorship with the Bà squet Club Morabanc Andorra, thanks to which the Fènix Hotel 4* remains the official and exclusive hotel of the basketball team on its return to the maximum competition, the Liga Endesa ACB . An agreement that, apart from various image compensations, allowed us to enjoy Easter Monday with a special Mona, inspired by the club and 'Brut', the mascot.
Another important point this year has been the support for Andorran singers, groups and musicians, following the line of previous years. In this way, during the first quarter of the year and throughout the summer, we were able to enjoy good music at The Lobby Bar and The RoofTop Van from artists such as Alys Paramá, Ingrid MartÃnez, Lia de Cuba, Martha Roquett, Roser Puigbò , Oscar León, Patxi Leiva and Sweet Victoria. A musical panorama that placed our Fènix Hotel 4* as the nerve center for leisure in the country every Thursday.
This year 2023, we have also seen our gastronomic offer grow, especially in The Lobby Bar of the Fènix Hotel 4*. First, we began to offer an afternoon snack service with French pastries accompanied by teas, hot chocolate and coffee. And in the second semester we started a new menu service at lunchtime on weekdays. In this way, we offer citizens the possibility of enjoying a healthy, balanced menu with the Daguisa Hotels quality seal.
And for 2024, what? The entire journey consolidates that our idea of being next to our country and supporting the society, culture and sport of Andorra continues to be necessary. This bond is part of our DNA, as well as the international outlook to put our country on the global map that helps us make qualitative leaps, but always with respect for the environment, to achieve sustainable growth, and without forgetting to be innovative. , which allows us to maintain evolution.
At Daguisa Hotels we focus on a new horizon before 2024, a stage that we face with new developments that began in these last weeks of the year. At a time of economic prosperity and healthy accounts, the Board of Directors of Daguisa Hotels made the decision, agreed and unanimously approved by the Shareholders' Meeting – made up of members of the Daban family – to step aside to leave the company. management of the Delfos Hotel 4* in the hands of Sercotel, a prestigious company in the sector, already working as manager of the establishment. An agreement that adds value to both Daguisa and the country thanks to the arrival of renowned hotel companies. Likewise, Daguisa Hotels ceased its obligations regarding the Euroski Mountain Resort, ending the agreement on its management.
For this reason, the year 2024 comes at a good time for Daguisa Hotels, both optimal in the economic field, with well-positioned assets in the tourism panorama of the Principality of Andorra that make us a benchmark in the Andorran hotel sector, as well as in the social sphere, with a staff whose effort and dedication we recognize daily, and a country that we do not hesitate to accompany and make ourselves available to whenever necessary.
